Learning to Knit is a performance-based video project. Nine episodes chronicle the artist’s pregnancy, her struggle to learn knitting from a “How to” book, and the media construction of the impending war with Iraq. Learning to Knit is a slapstick parody of motherhood and the history of women’s knitting during wartime.
